NEOJIVARO is the 6th NEO 430 Roma. Built by NEO YACHTS & COMPOSITES in Bari (Puglia, IT), and launched in mid July 2022, she has been prepared for a program of fully crewed offshore races like the Middle Sea Race. She is a member of Pôle Course of Société Nautique de Marseille and her crew is managed by the corinthian Jivaro Sailing Team. She did race and finish the last 3 editions, winning her class under ORC in 2024. Since end March 2023 NEOJIVARO is racing under the name AFAZIK IMPULSE, name of a project for the employment of people with cognitive handicaps due to e.g. traumatic brain injury or stroke. The project is managed by the french Hand's In Placement not-for-profit company. People with cognitive handicaps keep their intelligence and can compensate some of their lost abilities through hard work over several years, leveraging brain neuroplasticity. However they have great difficulties getting back to work, essentially because the vast majority of people do not know these handicaps, their recovery path, and their impacts on the behavior of affected people. Our objective carrying the name AFAZIK IMPULSE, is to bring a positive message regarding the inclusion in work teams, of people affected by these acquired though invisible handicaps. Just like when we welcome a new team member in our race crew ! Under the guidance of specialized practitioners as well as coaches and trainers, we have defined a very innovative protocol for a successful and profitable inclusion in the workforce, of people affected by acquired brain damage. We are now actively looking for companies interested in testing the protocol. An essential element is a positive and attractive communication in order to counter the fear factor and the stigmatization, and conversely obtain an effective engagement of the workforce of the company : stories and images about teamwork analogies while racing events like the Middle Sea Race.
